Harjuniitty school meadow, Nokia

Wild Zone established a school meadow in Nokia, Harjuniitty school in 2017. In the spring, we and the students sowed the meadow with Hylotelephium telephium, Echium vulgare, Viscaria vulgaris, Artemisia campestris, Anthyllis vulneraria ssp. Lapponica, Verbascum nigrum, Verbascum thapsus, Silene dioica, Leucanthemum vulgare, and Trifolium aureum seeds. The plants sown are of regional origin, and their wild population origins are traceable. In the autumn, we supplemented the meadow with Trifolium aureum seeds from the construction site of the Nokia Arena, at the Tampere railyard. The school meadow is being implemented in cooperation with the City of Nokia.
