The village meadow implemented by Wild Zone is one of the pieces of the Periferia multidisciplinary art exhibition at University of Helsinki's Hyytiälä forest station. Together with the station's scientists, we sowed the meadow with seeds collected nearby, such as Verbascum thapsus, Verbascum nigrum, Omalotheca sylvatica, and Hypericum maculatum. The meadow was complemented with species from the neighbouring areas, such as Succisa pratensis, Knautia arvensis, Leucanthemum vulgare, Viscaria vulgaris, Festuca ovina, Trifolium spadiceum, and Silene vulgaris. The wild population origins of the plants sown are traceable. We are implementing the Hyytiälä forest station village meadow in cooperation with the Periferia exhibition and the University of Helsinki.
