Our nonprofit started an experiment on flowering lawns in Kauppi Sport Center in 2022. On lawns of the premises, we have sown species that can handle some cutting, such as Silene vulgaris, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium medium, Plantago lanceolata, Trifolium arvense, Hypericum perforatum, and Rhinanthus. Flowering lawns can be cut more seldom compared to regular lawns. The plants sown are local strains, and their wild population origins are traceable. The flowering lawn in Kauppi Sport Center is being implemented in cooperation with Tampereen Infra Oy and the City of Tampere.
