The City of Tampere together with Wild Zone made a plan of a sun-exposed dry meadow to be established on the east side of Kaleva Church, in place of a lawn. We will sow the area with seeds of rare and spared local esker plants, such as Silene nutans, Viscaria vulgaris, Hylotelephium telephium, and Lathyrus sylvestris.
In addition, we will sow the meadow with seeds of spared cultural heritage plants, such as Echium vulgare, Berteroa incana, Centaurea scabiosa, and Trifolium aureum. We will gather the seeds in Tampere, in Kaleva and Kalevanharju esker areas primarily. Wild Zone will also plant there local seedlings the members have fostered.
Liisanpuisto park meadow is located on a built cultural heritage site of national significance. The meadow is an example of how the nature of valuable built cultural heritage sites can also be cherished and developed. The meadow itself fosters the local history through the local plant species.
