Wild Zone began landscaping Rudus' Noro gravel pit in Siilinjärvi in 2017. We sowed the south-facing slope of the pit with, for example, Viscaria vulgaris, Verbascum thapsus, Hylotelephium telephium, Echium vulgare, Campanula glomerata, and Dianthus deltoides seeds. The wild population origins plants sown are traceable. In two years, the number of seeds produced by the sown populations exceeded the seeds used, and nature's biodiversity has been strengthened. The management of the sun-exposed dry meadow area requires removing trees from time to time.
