NPO info

Wild Zone is a nature conservation nonprofit organization, founded in 2013 in Tampere. We are forerunners in exploratory and action-oriented strengthening of urban biodiversity, wasteland aftercare, ecological restoration, engagement-inclusive nature conservation, and cherishing biodiversity via experimental methods. The organization does both fieldwork and planning and strives to increase the ways species protection is viewed in policy. We aim at attracting new operators to biodiversity protection and compiling previously untapped resources via systematically and successfully implemented projects. Thus, Wild Zone complements the mostly prevailing nature conservation policies of protecting existing valuable sites.

Wild Zone has established over 200 different experimental biodiversity projects. The size of the projects vary from small urban meadows to large-scale restoration projects of forested areas and landscapings of industrial areas.
